I'm not entirely sure how, but when ~callisto-chan posted up a scrap page of her chibis she had worked out (which, by the way, your chibi scrap pages need more Purebred. >.>), I suddenly had the idea of draw Selene with one of my senshi, just for the hell of it. And since ~callisto-chan considers Celestial Souls and Earthia to be sisters (I consider Celestial Souls and Elemental Spirits to be sisters, since I started ES because of CS, but CS and Earthia are both senshi stories turned original sci-fi stories, so I can see why she'd consider it.), it seemed natural to stick Sailor Aeolus with her.

I ended up choosing Aeolus' more complicated, yet pretty, uniform, and I have no idea why. :O_o:

Anyway, I also had the idea, instead of making them their regular old versions, to make them Kayden and Christine (the current version of Christine) in the uniforms. I also decided to make it traditionally colored, because I hadn't in a while, and what better topic to traditionally color then sailor senshi? It was a good thing I did, since I used an old pen, and there was a reason I stopped using it, and I would have torn my hair out correcting the line-art in Photoshop otherwise. >.<

I rather like this, actually. Aeolus has always been the more confident of the two, no matter the story, jut for the mere fact that she's exposed to the alien life far earlier than Christine is. And she'd probably be a more confident soldier. Christine's too 'wtf is going on here?' to be like that. >.>

I could almost compare this to this piece, accept that they're not in senshi form there. Um, marvel at my weapon drawing skillz now? Hee.

Oh, awesome! I...I wasn't really expecting any art from you today, all things considered, so this is an awesome surprise, made doubly awesome by the fact that it's both random traditional art and random senshi art! Can't go wrong with that! :D

Yes, I suppose my chibi doodles page needs more Purebred...but in order for there to be more chibi doodle pages, there needs to be more traditional art so...hmmm, an interesting idea there...>.> Anyway, yeah, I can see why you'd think ES/CS sisters, in a way; I see the senshi-turned-sci-fi similarities a bit more with Earthia and CS. ^^; But I can see why you chose Aeolus' more complicated, prettier form. it's because it's...prettier, of course. :P I like Selene too, though I wasn't expecting the modern version of Chris in it. Somehow she looks god with wavy hair and a senshi uniform even if the uniform could stand a redesign, and it makes pairing her with Aeolus even more understandable. :D

They both look great, of course; I'm naturally partial to Selene, but I like Aeolus' pose and her expression. She does look more happy/confident, as she would be. I like Selene's vaguely annoyed expression though; maybe it's because Aeolus has this huge honking staff to use, and Selene has this little rinky-dink sceptre in comparison. Totally not fair. ;P Also, the lineart looks pretty good for an old pen, though I hate the feeling of discovering it's an old pen the hard way. I don't see that many strange areas (but maybe I'm too distracted by the pretty of the rest of the piece).

Anyway, thank you for the wonderful surprise! :D Totally wasn't expecting it, and we both get pretty senshi art this way! :XD:
