Persephone Birthday 2014

Description

I realized last night that today happens to be Persephone's birthday, and even though I decided not to do birthday pictures anymore (because I kept forgetting about them.  >.<), I thought it would be fun to do one for Persey anyway.

It's the first time actually drawing a picture of her since I decided to change her skin tone and ethnicity, and it was mostly an experiment to see how she'd look with her medieval clothes.  Not too bad.  Like with everything else, I changed the color scheme of her normal dress slightly, giving her a bit of blue because I figure her mother would think she was still head over heels for blue when she made the dress.  ;P

Since I actually prefer the green eyed Persey to the blue eyed Persey now, I figured I'd make a 'current story time' Persey, meaning she's lost her powers, and she's pretty much perpetually worried.  Which just explains the expression, really.  The rest of it is just a simple picture, but it's still cute.  She was supposed to have her hand behind her back, looking less confident...but of course I had to expose that hand to show off her rings.  >.>

Over all, just a cute, simple picture of Persey for her birthday.

I gotta admit, I was used to Persey's new skin tone, but seeing her in her usual Ithiyan dress is a pleasant surprise. I don't know why that's surprising, considering I saw her in Earth clothes just fine. Maybe seeing her in her medieval clothes really hits it home how drastic the change is? I got nothing. :P She still looks nice, mind you; it's my brain that needs to adjust. :P

I have to admit, green-eyed Persey doesn't look too bad, and it's kinda nice that that element would stay even when you changed her skin (I thought maybe you'd change her 'normal' eyes to brown). I like the contrast of dark skin and lighter eyes, and this fits the bill just as well as her blue. >.> Though I did like the blue too, even if they were so pale they were a little creepy -- to me, that seems like it'd be the whole point. >.> I ca see why you like the green eyes though. They're less creepy, but still captivating.

The dress works surprisingly well with that hint of blue. Poor Julia, she had yet to learn that her daughter's changed a lot since she last saw her. I wonder if discovering Persey's favourite colour is red now shocked her. After all, it's not blue. >.> I also think Persey looks worried, since the posture of someone can indicate a lack of confidence too. Somehow I think that gets across, what with her arms being at her sides, generally keeping to herself, that sort of thing. Looks worried enough to me, and still shows off that all-important ring. >.>

It's great to see more drawings of Persey, especially for her birthday! Lovely picture. :)
