Omega and her Champion

Well, I figured since my Alpha and Kay picture turned out so great that I'd go ahead and do one for Omega and Discordia. It's not as adorable as the one with Alpha and Kay, but it's still got an epic feeling to it. It really would be hard to be adorable with Omega in it, anyway.

The contrast between these two, while actually unintentional, is sort of awesome. Their appearance is exactly opposite of each other, which I sort of think is hilarious considering it was unintentional. :D Omega was just supposed to look similar to a Thanatian, but with rainbow spots since I sort of did away with that idea for the Thanatians. Then again, I suppose since Nemesites are sort of the anti-Thanatian, it sort of makes sense that Nemesites and Omega's species would be opposite as well.

I tried to make Discordia a little more true to how she actually. She's wary rather than angry, and wearing civilian clothes (since Kay was wearing Aeolian clothes in her picture, I figured it was just fair to put Malise in Nemesite clothes). I also keep messing with her hair, but I like it here. Now, I know what you're thinking, that you were thinking Nemesite clothes would be a bit more...sexy, but Discordia grew up in a town that's seperate from common Nemesites, and raised on the belief of not bearing everything. It's still a little sexy, since she also spent time in the capital city, but I didn't want to make it overly so. She's actually fairly modest, although it doesn't seem that way from her usual uniform.

I have to admit that the thing I love most about Omega is that you have this angry, pissed off, absolutely feared individual...and she's wearing a really frilly dress. Complete with cute Mary Jane shoes. :D The idea is basically that that's the style of clothes she grew up with, and she's most comfortable with. She doesn't even realize the offset of her image and her clothes! And the height difference this time is correct, since, being a relatively young species when they destroyed themselves, Omega's a little on the shorter side. But that doesn't stop her from being a badass.

Over all, I really like how this turned out, and I think it suits them just as well as the Alpha and Kay picture suited them. Omega's all angry and whatnot, and Discordia's being forced to look like a badass by Omega. It's not cute, but it works for them, and that's all that matters. :D

I was wondering if there would be an evil (or misguided, if you prefer) counterpart to the original! I love how this contrasts with the Kay/Alpha one in so many ways (like how Kay and Alpha look...vaguely similar; pink is kinda close to orange :P) And, like you said, Omega and Malise contrast with each other! Contrast all around! I like that. ;P

The little glimpse of civilian Nemesite clothing is very interesting, even if Malise is atypical. Since all we've ever seen are the Nemesite military uniforms, for obvious reasons, I was always kind of wondering what the civilian outfits looked like -- did Nemesite women dress as sexy as their military counterparts? Is there a booming industry for miniskirts and hot pants? I kind of get the impression that there is, for even if Malise is unusually modest for a Nemesite, her skirt is still very short. (And, as a random comment on the outfit, I like both the sash and the sheer thigh-highs, for some reason! They're almost cute. :O_o:)

I have to wonder how she feels about wearing the uniform if it's not something she's used to. I imagine she'd have become used to it after a while, but that first little while must have been a little bit uncomfortable for her (even if she wouldn't admit it). It's interesting getting to know Malise more and more beyond the Discordia persona; she comes off as almost tragic, manipulated by Omega as she is (and I have to wonder -- was the Discordia of the first book, the one who was much more vocal and grandiose, actually Omega using Malise's body? It was something I wondered ever since we got the information that Malise was Omega's champion.)

As for Omega...well, she looks like her usual self; what else can I say about that? I still like the idea of rainbow dots on her skin, maybe because it's not the sort of thing you would expect for someone has angry as her. It's funny that I kind of have the opposite problem; the frilly dress, while definitely offsetting the angry image she projects, doesn't make me smile so much as the rainbow dots. Maybe because they're so pretty...which is sharply contrasted with this angry, angry young woman. (Though yes, I have to admit the frilly dress doesn't help matters either. I can understand that she wears it because she's comfortable with it, though, since that's the exact same reasoning I use for Amina's robes. But it still doesn't help, especially when she's wearing an equally frilly petticoat. ;P)

Ha, I didn't realize Omega was so short, but for some reason I've been picturing her as only slightly taller than Kay -- not looming over her, but has at least a few inches. So yeah, compared to Malise she would be pretty short. I suppose her anger makes up for any height issues she has but ha, I love the idea that the angry, pissed off, wanting to raise hell one of the pair is actually the short pale one in the frilly skirt, rather than the tall, exotic femme fatale-looking one. Totally not what you'd expect at first glance. ;P

It might lack adorable baby animals, but it's got anger and epicness to make up for it. ;P Love the picture!
