And here's the Ithiyan version. >.> To be honest, I was sort of thinking to do the Tellanian next, just because, but I really couldn't resist doing the Ithiyan version. Not really because I'd be drawing Persephone. But because I'd get to design her red dress.

Persephone, for some reason, is obsessed with the color red, but it's not until the end of the first book that she gets a red dress. I hadn't exactly designed it yet when I wrote about it, but that doesn't matter; as long as it's red. This, actually, isn't really Persephone's favorite dress - her favorite one is the one her mother first makes for her, which is teal. But this is a close second.

I potentially could have gone with a tone done version of the background, like the other one, so that the focus is more on Persephone. But the whole point of Ithiya is that it's utterly perfect, so I decided to reflect on that might making the background bright and vibrant. Instead of a medieval castle/town you'd expect of Ithiya, I decided instead of depict her field, since it has a special meaning to her. I actually think it turned out really well. :D

The funny thing is that, when I started sketching, I didn't think I'd be showing her left hand at all. But then when I realized I did, I got all excited. Yay, engagement ring! :D So pretty...sorta. Whatever. -_- I got to include it, so I'm happy.

Yay, first we had Reverse Persey, now we have Regular Persey! What a good choice for your next one now I can put them side by side and flick through them to watch the hair change! ;P

I only vaguely remember a red dress at the end of Gatekeeper, because I'm terrible like that. >.> But hey, the fact that you didn't have a set design works pretty well for this picture; this way you can go nuts, so long as the colour remains red. >.> I like the dress design, especially since it isn't quite what I would have expected! It almost looks Victorian to me (though an earlier Victorian than the Victorian of reverse Persey, so you're good ;P) though I guess I shouldn't be too surprised -- laced up the front and fuller skirts are both hallmarks of Ithiyan fashion, and this has both. >.> (Well, maybe I shouldn't say that about the full skirts, since we've only seen Juliette have them...>.>)

I think it's the little corset that makes me think Victorian, since it's a very unusual, eye-catching aspect of the outfit. It's not something you'd usually see, either, but it still has the laces up the front and keeps that theme very well. I like the little gold stripe running down the front of it; it's a little detail but it really adds some oomph to the outfit. Another cute little detail is that ring! I can't blame you for being excited that you get to include it...sadly, I now know the feeling. ;P You don't think you hide the left hand (or at least the portion of the left hand where I ring would sit) all that often, until you realize how little chance you get to draw the ring!

I think the non-toned-down background works really well here -- for Reverse Persey's case, I can assume that we're looking at a picture of the background -- ie, something taken with their old, black-and-white-only cameras (and an old picture at that, if it's yellowed >.>). But Ithiya, as you said, doesn't have that technology yet. If they wanted to depict their surroundings, they'd have to paint them...and why would you paint in black and white when the landscape offers so much colour for you to use? That might be a weak excuse (I think going with the idea that Ithiya is a perfect place to me is a lot simpler :P) but hey, I'm sticking to it. ;P

This is a really cute picture! I'm glad you decided to do another one of these, especially a non-spoilery one. :XD: Yay, it's really cute! :D
