Description

No earthquakes were harmed in the making of the picture.

Wait a sec...

Yeah, I was finishing this up when the 5.9 East Coast earthquake rattled by house. Thought it was a truck or something passing by (although we don't get trucks that big) before it...just kept going. >.O Scared the crap out of me, let me tell you.

Anyway...

This is another one of those pictures I like to redo every now and then, espeically when I'm thinking about a new version and want to play around with designs. I recently got my muse on Earthia, for whatever reason, and since it finally had settled back into it's old futuristic story, I figured I'd go ahead and indulge it a bit. (It was playing around with the idea of making it modern day - Dylan was actually a human. Weird...) I also wanted to play around with Kayden's outfit, and see what it'd look like now. Admittedly, it...looks like it didn't change a lot, other than the colors, but I've been messing around with designs a lot, and I settled back on this one.

So yeah, the main girls of Earthia, looking all sassy and stuff. I know you can tell what I changed about Kayden right off the bat - she no longer has her buns. They're not exactly a common hairstyle, and she only had them to as a throwback to her Sailormoon roots, so I figured it was about time for her to lose them, and I really like how her hair looks just pulled back like that. Talia's hair get's a small change, mostly just making it straight rather than flipped up, since I can't draw that very well. ^^; I also inadvertently changed her uniform more than I meant to - its just supposed to be the sleeves that changed, but then I added the stripe to the skirt because I hadn't been looking at the reference. And Aerona...just gets an updated outfit. Can't change perfection. ;P Although she's wearing fishnet stockings because the others were wearing something on their legs, and she seemed a bit left out. I'm...not hating it, that's for certain. :O_o:

And then, of course, you got their planets in the background - Aeolus (although she's also half human), Helios, and Earth. How creative! Hee.

Here's some older versions of them together if you want to compare: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 (It...seems to be a yearly thing?)

See, what did I tell you? Switch stories for a little bit and your drawing muse will perk right up. ;P

I like all three of them, honestly, but I think Kayden stands out the most. Sure, you got rid of her buns (a little sad/weird to see her without them, but meh, I'll get over it), but did you make her paler again? I could have swore that the last design I knew about, she had much more tanned skin. :O_o: I saw you changed it on your ID and it confused me then too, but I rather like it. It might not be as unusual as the tanned skin with the red hair, but it's certainly pretty, and the contrast with the dark colours of her outfit makes for a striking design.

Aerona and Talia are pretty too, though; I like the alternate/new outfit designs for both of them; Aerona's looks casual, yet still a little dressy, and Talia's uniform looks neat with the sleeves like that, like some sort of jumpsuit. And even if the stripe on the skirt was a bit of a fluke, I think it looks rather pretty myself. Not to mention Aerona looks...pretty good in those fishnets. :O_o: It's certainly an interesting item to pair with that outfit, but it works...rather well, in a way. Talia's hair looks pretty, as does that nice tan she has. ^^;

I didn't realise Earthia pics were a yearly thing until you pointed it out, but I guess they are. You're good until next year, then. :P But seriously, yay, glad to see some Earthia art! :D
