And, naturally, here's the Earthia one. :D This one's sort of nice to be able to do, since I can't seem to do any couple pictures featuring these two. I'm partway through the third book, and I have, like, one couple picture of these two. It's so weird. So I sort of jumped at the chance to do this. :D

This one's a bit different from the other ones because, well, the other ones story lines were similar enough to the old versions of their pictures that they still made sense. Earthia's been through some changes in the past few years, such that the old version makes no sense. So I figure, since I was drawing it anyway, that I would kill two birds with one stone, and draw them in the outfits they wear at Aerona and Gaius' wedding.

Kay's dress turned out really pretty (and she picked blue because she knows that Dylan likes it so much. Good thing she did, since neither of them thought of the fact that he'd be wearing his royal attire, which is, of course, blue. And he wanted to match her.), even if it's a little simple. Dylan's ceremonial attire looks a little casual, but he's also an alien, so I figured he could get away with it, and it's make sense. It does look similar to the Helian royal ceremonial suit, but I figure that's just because the Nereids were copying Helios (and because I'm lazy).

But the circlet he's wearing is really weird. It's like, I know he's a prince, but actually showing it is a bit strange for me. Weird...

But overall, I'm really happy with this and how everything turned out. (Ha, this little series I did is very...</em>blue</em>, I noticed. :XD:) It turned out so pretty, and it serves a function! Yay!

And the old picture for comparison sake, although it's not even close to being the same anymore: Halfbreeds.

Ha ha, I don't even think I can compare this version to the old one (though Dylan still looks strangely good as a blond :O_o:) except in terms of art. I can safely say the art's improved. ;P

Is it sad that, when I saw this picture, the crisscross straps reminded me of Christine's prom (nearly typed wedding there >.<) dress? Because they did...but that's okay, because Christine's wedding prom dress is pretty and this dress is pretty. Similarly, her hair reminds me of Christine's 'Selene' hair, but hell, that's probably coincidental. This is a good way to have hair both up and down, in a way, so I can definitely see why you'd go for this option. Can't hide the waves completely, after all. That just wouldn't do. >.>

(I suppose seeing signs of my story where there probably aren't any is even sadder than seeing signs of Earthia in Gatekeeper, because they're both your stories. I'm obsessed with lots of stories, what can I say? ;P)

In all seriousness, the picture is gorgeous! Blue might not suit her skin tone as purple does, but blue compliments her eyes (and makes them look even blue...er, I guess) very nicely. Not to mention she matches Dylan, which is the important thing. ;P

Like I said to you the other night, it's one thing to know Dylan is a prince, and another thing entirely to see him in his prince wear, complete with circlet. I think showing him in his formal duds really hammers the point home visually, in a way that Kay's never experienced before. Yeah, he's still the same old Dylan, but just that moment where she sees him in his outfit is pretty important.

The great thing about his outfit is that it compliments Kay's dress. Sure, Kay could wear a nice rich brown colour -- with her pale skin it would probably look good on her -- and that would probably compliment the blue nicely...but it's not blue. I don't care of it looks like you're drowning, blue is pretty, and I heartily approve of the liberal use of blue in this series. ;P

I'm not sure what else I can say (besides the fact that yeah, it is kinda weird to see Dylan as a prince, and not in his Federation uniform or casual wear) but I do know the picture is pretty! Yay for blue more Erin art! :D
