Christmas 2012 - Sisters

Description

Merry Christmas, ~callisto-chan! :xmas:

I do have to admit that it's always difficult to try to figure out what to draw her. She's got so many stories now that I don't know which one she'd prefer. Well, I mean, other than all of them. I could have gone with a Celestial Souls piece, since that's what she's trying to get her muse on. In the end, though, I decided to be mean and go with what I'm sure her muse is currently on (for various reasons), and do her Ursa Major characters.

I already have a Calista/Hunter piece in the works, so I thought it would be sweet to do one of Calista and her sister, Dia, since they have a pretty good relationship in the story. I always think its funny that ~callisto-chan didn't intend for Dia as she did - she was supposed to be a ditzy girl who didn't get along with her more grounded sister - but instead came out as a caring sister who was just slightly more ditzier than normal. And I prefer her like that. :D

I think it's funny that Dia looks so shocked that Calista gave her something. Calista, you're apparently a horrible sister. ;P

I do like how these two turned out. Calista, naturally, is more causal, and I tried to give Dia a fashionable, yet festive, outfit. (Calista's in blue because...ya know, it's ~callisto-chan's obsessive color.) I like it, anyway.

Overall, this turned out adorable, and I hope you agree, ~callisto-chan!

OMG!! I have to say, I wasn't expecting a UM piece - I thoight you'd take the easy route and go CS, but you've done CS pictures before. You haven't done a UM Christmas picture, on the other hand (and it's lovely - I love it!! :D)

Haha, my muse is on a bunch of different things - some UM, some SE, and some CS - it really depends on the day. Right now the two biggest competitors are SE and S...but now UM has joined the fray, and it's all so terribly confusing for my muse. ;P

I love the outfits you put them in - Calista looks very nice in stripes (she's stealing Psyche's thing! Get her, Psyche! :P) and I have to admit I love that sweater you put her in. I'd wear something like that. But I'd wear something like what Dia has too, so I'm so torn. (Funnily enough, I'm wearing a sweater right now that's kind of similar to what Dia has on. The neckline is lower, though. But I have another sweater that's closer to that, but not as warm. I just find it funny. :XD:) But yeah, Dia's totally going for cute yet fashionable, as she does, while Calista's just going for cute. As she does. >.> (I don't know why, but the high turtleneck of her sweater looks really good with her short hair. I know that's weird, but I just like the look. :O_o:)

Hahaha, I love that, Calista apparently being a horrible sister. Maybe her usual gift for Dia is gift cards to the few stores she knows she likes, since it saves her from having to think about what Dia would like. Maybe Dia's just shocked that she actually got her a physical present to unwrap. Because that would mean Calista actually bought her something beyond a small plastic card. >.> Meanwhile, Dia buys her something each year. It's probably all archery related, since she knows that's the one thing that will go over well. Calista probably has tons of little figurines meant for Sagittariuses, despite not being a Sagittarius. But they have bows and arrows in them (sometimes), so it's golden. >.>

It's actually kind of fun thinking of how Christmas would be for all my different characters. The ones on Earth are the easiest, since it's more thinking about family dynamics than anything else. Thinking about all those non-Earth characters...takes a little more imagination. >.> (I bet the gods stubbornly continue to celebrate Saturnalia. I don't know if there's a Greek equivalent to that or what, but I bet they do. Non-stop partying from December 17th to the 23rd (and Eros is probably hiding away in his house during the whole time). And then they all go into the mortal world and take advantage of after-Christmas sales, if there's any, I have no idea. But it's probably wild. I don't know why I'm thinking about this, since the picture's not about the gods, just the two humans, but it's fun to consider.

Thanks so much for the lovely gift! Merry Christmas to you too, and I hope you've had a good day so far! :xmas:
