Charlotte Comparison

Description

I can't believe that I completely forgot to do a comparison with Charlie!  I mean, if I did one with Zulnerowich, who was introduced in Purebred and not Hart, Inc, then why shouldn't I do Charlie as well?  She's changed the most between versions.

Well, not her personality.  She's one of the characters whose pretty much stayed the same, with minor tweeks here and there as I got better at people/storytelling.

The reason I realized that I needed to do one of these for Charlie was because I was thinking that she's the only character to have been all three species at one point or another in the series.  ;P

The original Charlie was a vampire, having been turned right after she was in a fatal car accident to preserve her life, for whatever reason.  Except she couldn't be in contact with anyone because she was supposed to be dead.  ;P  She does end up going to school under a false name - Carlie - but Ryan gets a huge shock when she finds out her sister is alive.  I sort of forgot that I had her in the middle of her eye transition, such that she actually has purple eyes.  I also decided not to do her crazy roots, because I figure if I could do original Ryan as a blonde, then original Charlie can be one as well.

The current Charlie is a werewolf, having been turned some months before the story started by accident.  I'm still not sure why I decided to have Charlie be a werewolf from the beginning, but there you go.  I figured it'd make the dynamic later a little interesting, since Charlie can actually help out now.  She's pretty much the same as she always is, exceedingly popular, but she's withdrawing herself thanks to being a werewolf.  I really love her design now, with the dark skin, the strawberry blond hair, and those dark rings around her eyes.  She looks visually interesting.

I like her style as well.  It's probably similar to Ryan's admittedly, but with a touch more fashion to it.  It just ends up looking neat and comfortable.

The version between these two had Charlie being human, since I didn't like the idea of Ryan losing her sister, even if that made the story kinda interesting at the beginning.  But these are her supernatural forms, I suppose.  Quite a difference!

I hate Charlie and the way she always looks so much better than Ryan!  Grr...

Oh man, I mostly suggested the Grigoriy one because his appearance had changed a lot, but it never occurred to me to do Charlie because...well, her appearance really hasn't changed all that much, has it? But you're absolutely right in that Charlie's cycled through three different forms now, so of course she needs one too!

Haha, sad as it is, I...don't actually remember much of vampire!Charlie. I mean, I remember that she was one, but I'd forgotten about the eye thing and the whole assumed name thing. It makes sense, but it's been such a long time since that version that I forgot. :P As much as I like the idea of vampire!Charlie in theory, it...doesn't really work now, because I'm pretty sure Grigoriy would've been a-okay if Ryan's twin had become a vampire and not a werewolf. ;P

I think it's hilarious in that the blonde started as a purposeful dye job, but this new Charlie's strawberry blonde is all natural...sort of. She wasn't born with it, but it's that colour now whether she likes it or not. :P

I like werewolf!Charlie's look though. It was a little odd at first but she's definitely grown into it. It's also not as hard to get used to since, at least for the eye markings, she had those at the end of the version before this one. I also like how her sense of fashion has changed a lot, but I'm not sure if that's because of her personality changing, or if it's because your style and fashion sense has changed over the years. Wither way, I like the look. The scarf looks particularly nice, but for some reason now I'm picturing her in wolf form with that scarf around her neck. :O_o: Ah well, even as a wolf Charlie could still pull that scarf off!

I also love the cross necklaces, since that seems to be a thing with the New Haven girls. You'd think Charlie, of all people, would know that they do diddily-squat to vampires, but she still wears it.  I guess that's more of a cultural/local thing more than anything (plus didn't her father give it to her, if I remember right? So that gives it sentimental value too.)

I do like what Charlie's a werewolf now, since it gives her more of a chance to actually protect Ryan, whereas before she wanted to but really couldn't. Here she's stronger and a bit more experienced, enough so that she feels like she can kinda take them on. Plus it challenges the family dynamics, what with her mother's weird fear of werewolves. Elaine seems to have adapted to the idea quite nicely, though. Now all she has to do is get over her idea that all vampires are bad...which might take a while. baby steps, I guess.

Anyway, I'm glad you managed to get this done before the end of July, and this comparison looks great! Charlie's had a lot of physical transformations, but she's still Charlie.
